Light of Lights

Light of Lights What is the source of light? The sun is the source by day, The lamp, the guide by night. What is the source by which light is seen? The eyes are mirrors reflecting the light. What is the light that gives sight to the eyes? The intellect — the lamp within shines bright. And what is the source that knows the intellect? It is the Self — knower of all knowing. You are the Light of Lights. You are That. Let the darkness of ignorance be gone, Let the Light of knowledge be lit. Let the darkness of me and mine be gone, Let the Light of oneness be lit. Let the darkness of hoarding be shed, Let the Light of letting go be lit. Let the darkness of divisions be removed, Let the Light of unity be lit. Let the darkness of scarcity be destroyed, Let the Light of wealth be lit. Let the lamps of sameness shine in rows, Let the line of Lights within glow! Happy Dīpāvali! மெய்ப்பொருள் ஒளி- Radiance of the Real

Radiance of the Real  Not as someone's daughter, nor as the image of pleasure; Not as someone's wife, nor as. shadow of grace. Not as a mother, nor bound by name and form, Not as a sister nor as any known identity. When 'Me and Mine' dissolved, and all possessions faded away, As rain cools the heat of Chennai, I stepped at  the te...

Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike — An Adventurous Awakening Journey Within

Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike — An Adventurous Awakening Journey Within Paro Taktsang , famously known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery , is one of Bhutan’s most sacred and breathtaking places — perched on a cliffside at an altitude of around 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) in Paro, Bhutan.  It’s not just a hike; it’s a pilgrimage.  We began our hike from the base around 7 AM. Wooden walking sticks rented from locals in hand, Strava app turned on, and spirits eager, we followed our guide, Kinzan, who kindly guided us along. We took a “before hike” photo — smiling, unaware of the lessons waiting ahead. The winding path stretched ahead, shaded by tall trees, strings of prayer flags, with hundreds of steps ascending through the forest.  Around us, travelers from all over the world climbing along—each group led by its own local guide. Step by step, one foot before the other, the hike began.  With every upward step, doubts crept in —  Will I make it?   The walking stick ...

River of Knowledge

River of Knowledge Flow of life is like a river, Moving on - forever and ever. It never stops for anyone, Washing the sludge, leaving none. Sludge of desire within clings, Breeding stagnation - even for kings   Yet the River flows, serene, unattached, With its gentle current- impurities dispatched. Fulfilled desires may turn to greed, Unfulfilled ones to anger that bleeds. The rapids cleanse both from their berth, Clearing the debris for rebirth. Roasted seeds can never sprout, Roast the ego, burn it out. Walk gently on the bridge of Grace, Guiding by the light from inner space. When spark of jealousy arise, Quench them fast before they rise. Destroy the ignorance without trace, Let the River of knowledge merge with its source

Safe Landing at Self

Safe Landing at Self Ego rises tall - Mount Everest in pride Attachment to Body - Lhotse by its side Clinging to Mind - Nuptse stands near  while 'Me and Mine echo in the air Little further is the Kanchenjunga gleams world keeps climbing its restless dreams  Fly over the peaks of  rāga and dveṣa , Collecting the seeds of fear and desire. We keep acquiring what we lack Keep guarding what we piled in stacks We call it life of  Yoga and  kṣema , Circling endlessly- action and reward To rise higher, sacrifice the lesser Drop the mundane Yoga and kṣema Abandon all motivated actions  Let pure action be it's own reward Let the universal life take care of you, Circle the peaks, descend the view Meditate within the lotus heart And land safely at Self Bhutan, the land of Thunder Dragon calls  With emerald peaks & sacred falls Glacial Paro flows gently along, nourishing the red rice fields strong At Chunzom, where two rivers meet  Knower and know...
