From Flow to Stillness: Back to OM

From Flow to Stillness: Back to OM With the saṅkalpa of discovering the Absolute Truth, a lone bird set out toward the East, crossing oceans and uncertainties, brushing past the shadows of war, death, and disease. Its outward journey began near the Golden Gate Bridge and came to rest by the gentle suspension of Janaki Jhula, at the sacred grounds of Arsha Vidya Pitham in Rishikesh. The flow of Ganga Words tremble in the presence of Ganga. They hesitate, as though aware of their own inadequacy. Her brilliance is not merely seen but felt. The mind, restless by habit, finds stillness upon her banks. Seekers gather here like constellations in motion. Yogis hold silence in their postures. Devotees offer songs with arati that echoes into the sky. Some whisper prayers with flowers and diyas, while others attempt to capture eternity through the fleeting eye of a camera.  Some sit quietly at her edge. Some step into her waters and shiver, as if awakening from a long dream. And...

Ode to Gulab Jamun

Ode to Gulab Jamun ‘Tis the season to be jolly Music, dance, sweets, and dolls  Balls of calories nicely fried Help! deep in the hot oil, they cried. A holey spoon is dipped in the oil, unaffected by the nonstick coat, the spoon, compassionately picked them, dropped in the sugar syrup Left them to immerse in the nectar Restless jamuns bob up and down, wanting to run around the city and town In that process, some may brake down while others soak patiently until dawn Fried balls are the jivas in the oil of samsara Holy Guru takes them out of the notion of samsara Knowledge of oneness is the three-string sugar syrup  Soaking in it, are the sweet Gulab Jamuns! A cure for 'Samsaritis' - Sravanam, Mananam Nididhyasanam

Triple antibiotic treats Cellulitis  Neomycin, Polymyxin  Bacitracin Apply liberally so wounds can heal  And it is kind of a package deal   Triple practice cures Samsaritis  Sravanam, Mananam Nididhyasanam   Practice for the ignorance to flee  And then you can be free Tumor grows without a reason Ignorance exists without an origin Tumor spreads in predicted pattern Ahankara grows like rings around Saturn  Shabda acts without interruption   Ignorance undergoes destruction    The main ingredient of this concoction Sravanam is the antidote with no option Self enquiry removes the obstruction Clears the doubts with no corruption  Mananam functions as a wonderful remedy  And it removes errors to bring clarity Familiarity brings back the habit Mind jumps back like a rabbit Nididhyasanam makes you strong So the knowledge shines along A platter of appetizers are served  And will be eaten by the deserved It was...
