Stairway to the truth

Stairway that leads to the truth Unfolded by Guru in wisdom booth Words come out as speech   Originating from mind as outreach Sankalpa in the mind is subtle  Chittam is even more subtler  Stillness of contemplation is superior Vijnanam , the learning is interior Strength beholds the art of learning Pritvi morphs as food providing strength  Apah is subtler to be sensed by four Agni is even subtler to be sensed by three Vāyu is superior to be sensed by two Ākasa is even superior to be sensed by one Smaraṇa is the memory behind everyone Desire is the basis from where things begin Prāna is the life force for the desire Dead body has no desire, can be thrown in the fire Satyam is the base for the prana Satyam is that which is unchanging  in all three periods of time. Satyam is that which is non-negatable  This is the staircase that leads to the truth.

A dream within a dream

It is a grand party in the backyard Money is splurged with credit card  Many guests are attending the party Some are punctual, some are tardy  Multiple servers are hired to serve Many dishes kept on the reserve Various entertainments are planned Esteemed artists are lined A magician, a fortune teller, A musician, a dancer, a psychic All agreed to be the sidekicks Pool is lit by the shining moon  Backyard is filling up very soon  Suddenly it grew into a stadium  I am standing right at the podium People greeted with gifts that are bigger than arm span Everyone is having a great time  buzz buzz buzz.... iPhone alarm rang I woke up from sleep oh! It was a dream! In the dream Everything is me! Guests are me! Unwanted pest is me! Back yard is me! Beautiful pool is me! The server is me! The entertainer is me! Dream came out of me! Sustained by me! Resolved in me! All of them are me! But I am not anyone of them! Everything appeared 'as though'. Everything is...

Raft of Knowledge

Oh, Revered Guru!  Make me a raft of knowledge that matters Let it help me drift in the waters Let it be strung together with  my right attitude and trust. Let it be nailed with the calmness of mind, non reacting, that will never rust. Let it by guided by the lighthouse of GPS (Guru Pada Stotram) to sail through the darkness of guilt and hurt. Let it be held by the truth of self,  to unfold Mahavakya at its best! Tat Tvam Asi  will be the personal flotation device. Sarvam Kalvidam Brahma  will be the security blanket to hold. Prajnanam Brahma   will be the life jacket to wear. Satyam jnanam Anantam  will be the indicatory green signal. With this raft I can drift in any body of water I can cross the plethora of tears.  I can cross the fathom of fears. I can cross the deep sea of sorrow. The truth of the knowledge  will hold steady during the turbulence.  The vision without division will clear the confusion from whirlpools.   Oh,...

Reversing the Gaze- Acharyā's conversation with the Pūrvapakṣa

Objection -1 Tat Tvam Asi is only for meditation We can just use it for imagination It is good for practicing eyes closed It does not mean the reality is disclosed Samadānā-1 This is said to without 'Iti' (इति) Dear There is no 'Do it as though' here Tat Tvam Asi is the reality  You understand that with clarity Objection -2 Tat Tvam Asi is just a figure of speech There is nothing there to preach It is like saying 'You are a bull ' It does not mean 'You are full'  Samadānā-2 Tat Tvam Asi is an Upadeṣā The thesis statement is clear It is the knowledge that makes  Everything known for the seer The primary meaning is fulfilled The secondary meaning has no role You are Brahman now and here It cannot be negated anywhere  It is not to be accomplished by sleuth It is already here and it is the truth If mere thinking will be provide the answer There will be no need for a teacher  Brahman can be understood only  When explained by an able Guru  Brahman is ...

The Equation that needs beating to understand

It is the poster child of the Shastrā Because it has all the shad lingā Upakrama and Upasamhāra marks  The beginning and end for the thesis Abhyāsa is the repetition for clarity Apūrvatā makes it indeed a rarity  Phalā is the final fruit to cherish That will never ever perish  Waves of Narmada repetitively crash  A ragged rock is now a smooth Shiva    No other means of knowledge can declare It is the only one that make you aware Arthavāda means statements to explain Upapatti includes the examples  With all these lingā this chapter Explains the truth crystal clear Where is the ignorance located? It is right where this question is located It is the nature of the asker  It is the nature of the seeker Ignorance is located where the fear is Ignorance is located where the sorrow is Time, space and thoughts are fleeting Harvesting a potato needs lot of beating When the question arises - Who am I? The soil coverings are removed The body, the senses, the m...

Advaitā - A Progressive lens

Mind altering pole shaking collision Advaita gives revolutionary vision Sun does not need a candle for light Atmā does not need another light No mistake when totally known No mistake when totally unknown Mistake happens when partially known Mistake retreats when path is shown Atmā is superimposed on Anatmā Anatmā is superimposed on Atmā Ṣabda pramānā acts as a magician  Knowledge removes superimposition   Notion of doer is retreated Notion of experiencer is retreated Antaḥkaraṇā  gets deep cleaning 'I' takes a new meaning  Samsarā ocean is just a notion Advaitā lens dries up that ocean Guru is the new optometrist Changes the life as an alchemist Swamini Svatmavidyananda  class   Chandogya Upanishad 60

The contemporary seeker

It is the gaze of the Lion  Looking back to clarify  Simhāvalokana is the summary To confirm it is not a flummery Sixth is the poster chapter to recognize It has all six signs to make you wise Perfect for the modern seeker Who walks around like a sneaker This contemporary seeker is proud  (She)He feels special in the crowd  (She)He has an overdeveloped 'Head' (She)He considers (her)himself well read Within the seeker it comes to focus The heart of the seeker is the lotus Lotus blossoms when there is sun  Śāstra is the self evident sun Sun will not open a clay lotus Sun cannot open a wooden lotus Sun can never open a stone lotus It is the beauty of the magnum opus It is symbolic for lack of focus Clay lotus will disintegrate in water Rajasic is the nature of wooden lotus That will bob up and down in water Ignorance of ignorance will clink Tamasic stone lotus will sink Śiṣya vivekā is explained well Bodhasāra narrates this well The layers of the modern seeker The ...

The Inner Space

The one who knows the truth of supreme  Is not bound by any place or time  He has no particular way to depart  He has no bondage to free apart He does not to circle in place Because he has the inner space  He knows he is not the doer He knows he is just the actor The one who lacks inner space Runs around the world in rat race He goes through cycles of birth with desires will be born in the earth Criminals were tested in the court Polygraph test is used then in the fort Ṣankarā quotes an example of this Where hand will touch a red hot axe when an avidvān touches after command  The axe can burn criminal's hand  But when vidvān touches with inner space He has no burn and  no pain in his face Knower known knowledge One and same in this college Know the inner space  And enjoy the real peace   Swamini Svatmavidyanandaji Chandogya Upanishad  Class 58

Sadatma ekatva darṣana:

'I want' 'I want', 'I want'      rings in the background as Tanpurā 'I lack', 'I lack', 'I lack ' joins as melody in the symphony 'Why me', 'Why me', 'Why me' explodes as drumbeat in the band  The family tree of Jivā is rooted in Avidyā Avidya delivers the baby called Kamā Kama delivers the baby called Karmā Karma delivers the twins Pāpā and Punyā Jiva may exit through the sahasrā  that will not give him mokshā Desire is the driver for ajñāni It brings him back to samsarā Ajñāni wakes up from sleep Ajñāni is born again after death  Ajñāni comes back even after pralayā Cycle of birth and death continues forever and ever Jñani knows the truth of sadātmā Jñani knows the truth of sarvatmā Jñani knows the advitiya ekatvam Jñani rides the desire so never returns Swamini Svatmavidyanandaji Chandogya Upanishad  class 57

One way ticket

That resides everywhere is Atmā  That one and undivided is Atmā That everything and You is Atmā Why is there repetition about Atmā ? Relaxed mind goes off to sleep Confused mind has doubts in heap Repetition brings clarity with no trance  Repetition removes all traces of ignorance  'To exist' is constant and that begins everything  'To do', 'To enjoy' revolve around this thing The process of living has sixfold changes  The process of dying has fourfold stages First that goes is speech and expression  Next that goes is mind and obsession Then the Prana exit the body without a sound  Lastly the fire cools down without being bound  People gather around the loved one’s body People do seva while they depart this body People continue projections about death People continue inspection until last breath 'Maranakram ā'  is what Jiv ā  undergoes Satsampatikramā is what Jnāni undergoes Jivā returns back to the world to fulfill karmā Jnāni has ...

The three musketeers of samsārā -Prārabda, Sanchitā, Āgāmi

The complaining Jiva always cries That is centered on the superimposed 'I' And centered on the world that is Not 'I' Until her  Guru opens her eyes   As the blindfold is removed by dear  The twofold complaints disappear Wrong priorities are cleared right away Achāryā shows her the right way  Freedom is enjoyed now and here Love is felt now and everywhere Body continues as a released arrow Just like wheels roll in the barrow  Chitraguptā created this travel itinerary  This includes one's predetermined destiny  Date and time is determined by one's vāsanās Place and form is decided by one's karmās Three different karmās are explored Sanchitā is the luggage that is stored  Prārabda is the carry on that is on board Āgāmi is the material that one hoard The power of Iṣwarā is understood to fame The superimposition is understood as name  The released arrow of Prārabda continues the game The other two are destroyed with no one to claim The knowle...

āchāryavān puruṣo veda Part- 2 - The road to liberation Part -2

To be born as human is a boon To realize that is like a blue moon  The forest is nothing but the body And Karmā represents some body Made with skin and flesh Nourished with blood and lymph Strengthened by bones and marrow Not knowing reality brings the sorrow There are multiple desires erupt constantly There are multiple paths emerge instantly Mokṣa is one of the desire that emerge In the middle of thousands to splurge That desire to be free becomes prominent Moving away all the other to be subdominant It is because of pure grace Which helps you win the race In the crowded airport the sign board appears The Guru with the Mokṣa board removes fears  The blindfold of wrong priorities is sheared  The samsārā forest is instantly cleared  The knowledge happens then and there The freedom is understood then and there The desire to be free takes a quantum leap The desire to know takes a long sweep The complaining self no longer complains The doubting self no longer dou...

āchāryavān puruṣo veda Part- 1 - The road to liberation Part -1

Long long ago so long ago  there was this man wandering  He was walking aimlessly  and was persistently pondering He landed up in a dense forest  as though he was made for squandering And before you know there were  robbers for money laundering Those robbers beat him up  and tied him up to the tree He was blindfolded, wounded  and could not be free He cried and yelled for help  but could not see He was losing hope as there  was no guarantee There appears the one compassionate soul  whose cool hand touched his brow to console He allowed her to untie his bondage  and let him show the way to his cottage  The Guru is the one who removes ignorance The Guru then disappears without difference The Guru has unconditional compassion that flows The Guru then lightens the path that glows The direction to home town is bestowed The man is left with choices for the road He can be a wanderlust and seek infinitely Or choose to seek the infinite...
