Ācāryopāsanam means service to the teacher

It is embedded deep in the Hindu culture

Surrender and do service to the teacher

Let it be an important feature

The side glance of the teacher is enough

To remove the samsara slough

No service is small or large

Body and mind get recharged

The one who unfolds the self-knowledge

Is the true teacher to acknowledge

Choose the right teacher with great lineage

Respect the teachings along with the lineage

Surrender your personal ego to the teacher

Who really needs no surrender by nature

There must be no fear of exploitation

Students prostrate with devotion

Develop a willingness to serve

That increases grace in your reserve

Serve expecting nothing in return

That shows inner readiness to learn

The yearning desire brings out inquiry

The student is ultimately the only beneficiary

This is an important value to possess

That itself will continue to bless
